Hubballi: BJP president BS Yeddyurappa on Tuesday expressed anger over Union Minister Ananth Kumar Hegde and BJP MP Nalin Kumar Kateel over their tweets about Mahatma Gandhi's assassin Nathuram Godse.
Speaking to reporters in the city on Friday, he said that the statements of Ananth Kumar Hegde and Nalin Kumar Kateel has damaged the party's image. BJP national president Amit Shah has already issued notice to them and asked them to give explanation within 10 days.
People's representatives should be aware of their words while talking about the Father of Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, who led the country's freedom movement. There was no need of such irresponsible statements, Yeddyurappa expressed dissatisfaction.
Speaking lightly about Mahatma Gandhi it not right. This is an unforgivable crime. The party's national disciplinary committee will take appropriate action, Yeddyurappa said.
