Yeddyurappa makes record as most short-lived CM
Bengaluru: B S Yeddyurappa on Thursday became the chief minister for a third time, but broke his own record of the most short-lived head of government in Karnataka on Saturday, as he bowed out of office in three days.
In 2007, when he first was sworn in, his Chief Ministership lasted for only slightly longer than 8 days from November 12 to 19, before the JD(S) pulled out of the coalition government,. In 2011 again, his tenure as CM was cut short by two years following his indictment in the illegal mining scam.

Minor girl kidnapped and raped; main accused and two cafe owners held
Latur (PTI): A minor girl was allegedly kidnapped and raped by an 18-year-old man in Latur, leading to the arrest of the main accused and owners of two cafes where the crime occurred on December 4, police said on Saturday.
Police traced the girl within hours of registering the complaint. The accused, identified as Rihan Gulab Shaikh, was arrested based on the girl's complaint. Two others are owners of two cafes where the crime occurred, police said.
Police registered a case under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS), POCSO Act, and the Prevention of Atrocities Act, an official said.
