Bengaluru: Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy directed the authorities to take the service of private doctors if needed for treating those deceased after consuming poisonous ‘Prasad’ at Kichkuth Maramma temple at Sulvadi village in Hanur taluk on Friday.

Hanur: The condition of many people who fell sick after consuming poisonous food at Kichkuth Maramma temple at Sulvadi village in the taluk on Friday, is still critical. Total 11 persons died in the incident.

Soon after returning from Chennai on Friday evening, Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy held a meeting of senior officers at the Airport on Sulvadi village tragedy.

Mysuru: Minor Irrigation Minister CH Puttaraju said that the government would give Rs 5 lakh compensation to each family of the victims who died after consuming ‘Prasad’ at a temple in Hanur taluk on Friday.  

Hanur: With five more deaths, the death toll in the Sulvadi Maramma temple tragedy has gone up to 10 and more than 80 persons who fell sick after consuming the Prasad, were admitted to a hospital.

At least five people, including two children, died and about 80 others took ill Friday after consuming 'prasad' at a temple at Sulivadi village in Chamarajanagar district, police said.

“We have asked two ministerial berths to minority community during Cabinet expansion. Minorities have played a major role in winning 80 seats in the last Assembly election by the Congress”, said Minority Welfare, Food and Civil Supplies Minister Zameer Ahmed Khan said.
