Though Chief Minister Siddaramaiah was denying the anti-incumbency factor influencing this election, 17 ministers of the Congress government bit the dust in the election held for Karnataka assembly.

Constituencies witness surprise results

Another constituency which was the centre of attraction was Shivamogga urban, where former deputy chief minister and Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Council KS Eshwarappa won against sitting MLA KB Prasanna Kumar of Congress with a huge margin of 46,107 votes. Eshwarappa got 104027 votes, while Prasanna Kumar got 57920 votes.

Constituencies like Kolara, Srinivasapura, Koratagere, Mangaluru, Shantinagar and others have witnessed a surprise results in the election held to the Karnataka Assembly.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)'s chief ministerial candidate B.S. Yeddyurappa said on Tuesday evening that he had urged Governor Vajubhai R. Vala to allow him to prove majority support in the Karnataka Assembly.
