Amid Cauvery row, Karnataka Deputy CM appeals to TN to cooperate on Mekedatu project

Bengaluru: Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar on Tuesday made a passionate appeal to the Tamil Nadu government to cooperate with the implementation of the Mekedatu project across river Cauvery which, he said, would be more beneficial to the neighbouring State.

 


Landslide in Ankola: Seven dead, including five from one family

A tragic incident occurred near Shirur in Ankola taluk where a landslide resulted in the deaths of seven people, including five members of a single family. The victims have been identified as Lakshmana Nayka (47), Shanti Nayka (36), Roshan (11), Avantika (6), and Jagannath (55). Information about the other two deceased individuals is still pending.
