ISRO''s PSLV-C62 mission ''encounters anomaly'' during third stage
Sriharikota (Andhra Pradesh) (PTI): ISRO's PSLV-C62, carrying an Earth Observation satellite and several commercial payloads, encountered an anomaly during the third stage of the flight, space agency chairman V Narayanan said on Monday.
The 44.4 metre tall four-stage rocket lifted off as scheduled at 10.18 am from the spaceport here.

The mission was intended to place a primary Earth Observation satellite and multiple co-passenger satellites into a 512 km Sun-Synchronous Orbit.
According to ISRO, the first two stages performed within expected parameters, and at the end of the third stage (PS3), the vehicle experienced "disturbances".
Addressing the team at the Mission Control Centre here, ISRO chief Narayanan said, "The PSLV is a four-stage vehicle with two solid stages and two liquid stages. The performance of the vehicle up to the end of the third stage was expected. Close to the end of the third stage we are seeing more disturbance in the vehicle and subsequently, there was a deviation observed in the flight path."
"We are analysing the data and we shall come back at the earliest," he said.
Later, in a post on 'X', ISRO said, "the PSLV-C62 mission encountered an anomaly during the end of PS3 (third stage). A detailed analysis has been initiated."
The mission was the first launch of the year, part of a contract secured by NewSpace India Ltd, the commercial arm of ISRO.

Punjab: Two shooters, 5 others arrested in AAP sarpanch murder case
Chandigarh (PTI): Punjab Police on Monday said it has arrested two shooters and five other accused in the murder case of an AAP sarpanch who was killed at a wedding in Amritsar on January 4.
The two shooters -- Sukhraj Singh alias Ganga from Patti in Tarn Taran district and Karamjit Singh from Gurdaspur district -- were arrested from Raipur in Chhattisgarh on Sunday in coordination with the local police and central agencies, Punjab Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav told reporters here.
The two were produced before a court in Raipur and taken into custody after obtaining transit remand. They are being brought to Amritsar for further investigation, he said.
The other five arrested accused, who were part of the support and logistical module, were arrested from Punjab, the DGP said.
Jharmal Singh, sarpanch of Valthoa village in Tarn Taran, was shot dead at the wedding at point-blank range.
CCTV footage showed the two shooters walking into the wedding venue, one of them pulling out a gun and firing at Singh's head before fleeing the spot. Singh was rushed to a hospital, but he succumbed to his injuries.
Soon after the incident, the AAP government drew flak from the opposition over alleged deteriorating law and order in Punjab, with the BJP demanding Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann's resignation.
