New Delhi: Careem Pakistan and India food supply chain Zomato were engaged in multiple banters on the social media site Twitter during and after the much anticipated India vs Pakistan match on Sunday at the MCG.

Fans who enjoyed the match were then served some friendly banter by the official Twitter handles of the two companies.

Ahead of the match, Careem Pakistan took a dig at the Indian fans in a tweet reply to one of the Zomato tweets and asked the fans if they were ready for their pre-Diwali gift pointing to the defeat it will face during the match.

“We hope you guys are ready for your pre-Diwali gift (read defeat)” Careem replied to Zomato’s tweet.

Zomato on Monday replied to Careem’s dig and asked them if they would like sweets or if they had filled their stomachs with tears after their team’s defeat handed by India in the match.

“Diwali ki hardik shubhkamnaye mithayi lenge ya aansuo se pet bhar liya?” Zomato replied.

In another tweet, Zomato took a dig at the Pakistan fans following their defeat and wrote “dear pakistan, ordered a defeat? virat your service”. (We are at your service).

Replying to the tweet, Careem Pakistan added “We don’t have cheat days” supporting a wild claim by the Pakistan fans that India cheated to win the match with controversial decisions from the umpires.

Udupi: Udupi City Police have registered a case of online fraud after a 62-year-old hotel chef was allegedly cheated of Rs 1.13 lakh by a woman who befriended him on WhatsApp, claiming to be based in London.
The victim, identified as Pandu Kariappa Poojary, a resident of Kuthpadi in Udupi, was working at a hotel in Mangaluru.

He reportedly came into contact with a woman identifying herself as Emilda William on WhatsApp. During their interactions, she told Poojary that she planned to start a cosmetics and hotel business in India and would meet him during a visit to Mangaluru.
On April 7, Emilda sent Poojary a flight ticket from London to Delhi via WhatsApp. The following day, Poojary received a phone call from a woman who informed him that Emilda had arrived at Delhi airport carrying a demand draft worth Rs 5 crore along with other items. The caller allegedly asked him to pay Rs 70,000.
Subsequently, Poojary also received a call from Emilda, who was reportedly crying and spoke about the situation. Believing the claims, he transferred a total of Rs 1,13,300 in phases using a scanner. He later realised that he had been cheated.
