New Delhi: Amidst the political uproar surrounding the two agricultural bills passed by the Parliament on Sunday, news agency ANI found some farmers in various parts of the country who announced their support for the two bills.
In a story from Kanpur, ANI reported that farmers in the district welcomed the new agriculture reform bills.
"We welcome the farm bill but the central govt should think more about the farmers. They should exclude the role of middlemen & take steps to ensure that farmers don't commit suicide," farmers were quoted as saying by ANI.
The story was posted on Twitter by the news agency, but soon the reactions from other users made it evident that it had failed to convince people about its authenticity.
Twitterati who outrightly declared it propaganda and started finding fault in the story. Noted activist Darshan Mondkar took a dig at the story and wrote “I love the farms in Kanpur UP. I mean, look at the healthy farmers sitting in the beautiful lined trees. And check the lovely boundary wall and the iron grills over it. Then check the Gate in the background. Also notice how all these farmers have such identical looking fields. There is so much beauty in uniformity. If this is how the farms look in Kanpur..... I wonder how the rest of Uttar Pradesh looks. Disclaimer: UNESCO has declared ANI as the first News Agency in the world to take pictures of a bunch of "Ramu Kaka"s in the city garden and pass them as farmers. This is also a great contribution to Adityanath's dream of building the World's Best Film City in UP” he wrote in a Facebook post.

1. All 4 "farmers" in this pic are sitting in a park, not farm.
2. Ashoka tree, Palm tree & other such plants/trees in the pics are NOT part of farming.
3. Farmer 1 & 3 wearing same brand new pink gamcha.

These actors are farmers but the ones getting their bones broken are terrorists according to BJP's media arm ANI and propaganda face Runout respectively. https://t.co/g0F2ZJADgc

Also what the gamcha that the "farmer" in pic 1 has around his shoulders is suspiciously brand new and similar to the one tied around the head on pic 3 ? https://t.co/SdOQIdavBm

Amazing how all four farmers gave ANI the EXACT SAME quote. ?? https://t.co/brr0R12emE

ANI's tweet would make it seem like these are farmers from different parts of Kanpur district. Actually, they're all sitting around the same tree.

And how does one ascribe the same quote to multiple people? https://t.co/eFwrO04W8L pic.twitter.com/v3eCzeUpIN

Mumbai (PTI): Veteran screenwriter Salim Khan suffered a brain haemorrhage which has been tackled, is on ventilator support as a safeguard and stable, doctors treating him said on Wednesday, a day after he was admitted to the Lilavati Hospital here.
The 90-year-old, one half of the celebrated Salim-Javed duo which scripted films such as "Sholay", "Deewar" and "Don" with Javed Akhtar, is in the ICU and recovery might take some time given his age.
"His blood pressure was high for which we treated him and we had to put him on a ventilator because we wanted to do certain investigations. Now the ventilator was put as a safeguard so that his situation doesn't get worse. So it is not that he is critical," Dr Jalil Parkar told reporters.
"We did the investigations that were required and today we have done a small procedure on him, I will not go into the details. The procedure done is called DSA (digital subtraction angiography). The procedure has been accomplished, he is fine and stable and shifted back to ICU. By tomorrow, we hope to get him off the ventilator. All in all, he is doing quite well," he added.
Asked whether he suffered a brain haemorrhage, the doctor said, "Unko thoda haemorrhage hua tha, which we’ve tackled. No surgery is required.
As concern over Khan's health mounted, his children, including superstar Salman Khan and Arbaaz Khan, daughter Alvira, and sons-in-law Atul Agnihotri and Aayush Sharma, have been seen outside the hospital along with other well-wishers. His long-time partner Akhtar was also seen coming out of the hospital.
Khan, a household name in the 70s and 80s, turned 90 on November 24 last year. It was the day Dharmendra, the star of many of his films, including "Sholay", "Seeta aur Geeta" and "Yaadon Ki Baraat", passed away.
Hailing from an affluent family in Indore, Khan arrived in Mumbai in his 20s with dreams of stardom. He was good looking and confident he would make a mark in the industry as an actor. But that did not happen. And then, after struggling for close to a decade and getting confined to small roles in films, he changed lanes.
He worked as an assistant to Abrar Alvi and soon met Akhtar to form one of Hindi cinema's most formidable writing partnerships. They worked together on two dozen movies with most of them achieving blockbuster status.
Other than "Sholay", "Deewar" and "Don", Khan and Akhtar also penned "Trishul", "Zanjeer", "Seeta Aur Geeta", "Haathi Mere Saathi", "Yaadon Ki Baarat" and "Mr India".
