WhatsApp rolls out 'Picture in Picture mode' for Android beta users
San Francisco, Oct 3: WhatsApp on Wednesday started rolling out "Picture in Picture (PiP) mode" for viewing videos hosted on selected platforms, for all Android beta users running Android operating system (OS version 4.4 and above).
According to WABetaInfo, a fan website that tracks WhatsApp, the PiP feature is being introduced for all Android beta users that would allow users to play videos hosted on platforms such as YouTube, Facebook, Instagram and Streamable right within WhatsApp.
PiP is a special type of multi-window mode mostly used for video playback. It lets the user watch a video in a small window pinned to a corner of the screen while navigating between apps or browsing content on the main screen.

"If you have already updated but you don't see the feature, please back up your chat history and reinstall WhatsApp if you don't want to wait more," WABetaInfo said.
Users need to update WhatsApp version to the 2.18.301 Android beta update to use the new PiP mode.
WhatsApp has already implemented the feature on its iOS app and it is expected to be introduced for all Android users soon.
The PiP feature was rolled out in January for iOS users.
The Facebook-owned company has over 200 million monthly active users in India and is one of the most popular mobile apps worldwide.

Delegation requests for Karnataka HC Bench in coastal districts, hands petition to Chief Justice
Udupi: A delegation of the High Court Bench Struggle Committee met and submitted a petition to the Karnataka High Court Chief Justice Vibhu Bakhru at the Circuit House urging the opening of a High Court Bench in the coastal belt as well as a Mobile High Court Bench in Mangaluru.
MLC and convener of the Committee Ivan D’Souza, who spoke to the Chief Justice on the occasion, explained that the people of the coastal belt find it difficult to travel to Bengaluru to fight a petition in the High Court. The problem only aggravated during monsoon. D’Souza added that there was a delay in clearing the cases of Udupi, Chikkamagaluru and Kodagu districts, which was causing further inconvenience to the people.
The MLC, who pointed out that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah had also shown his preference for establishing a High Court Bench in the coastal region, requested for an approval to establish a Mobile High Court Bench first.

Responding to this request, Chief Justice Bakhru assured to take action on the request as soon as possible.
The delegation included Mangalore Bar Association President Raghavendra HV, Dakshina Kannada Principal Government Pleader MP Noronha, General Secretary Sridhar H, Udupi Bar Association President Reynold Praveen Kumar, General Secretary Chandrashekhar Shetty, Vice-president Devadas V Shettigar and Brahmavar Bar Association President Kadoor Praveen Shetty.
