Mumbai, India: The ongoing World Cup 2023 semifinal between India and New Zealand at Wankhede Stadium witnessed a historic moment as Virat Kohli, chasing Sachin Tendulkar's record, scored a century. After completing the ton, Kohli paid tribute to Tendulkar by bowing towards the cricket legend.
Adding to the excitement, former England football captain David Beckham, who was present at the match, joined in the celebration.
Kohli's century, breaking Tendulkar's record, occurred in the 42nd over, and the former Indian skipper, in a display of respect, bowed towards Tendulkar. The cricketing icon was in attendance along with Beckham, who was seen interacting with the Indian cricket team before the match.
Beckham, UNICEF's Goodwill Ambassador since 2005, is on a tour in India to advocate for child rights and gender equality, aligning with the global theme for World Children's Day 2023. The footballer expressed excitement about watching Kohli play before the match. After Kohli's record-breaking century, Beckham, along with the crowd, gave the Indian captain a standing ovation.
The Wankhede Stadium not only witnessed a cricketing spectacle but also saw the convergence of sports and entertainment as Bollywood stars Kiara Advani, John Abraham, Shahid Kapoor, Ranbir Kapoor, and Sidharth Malhotra were present in the crowd, along with other film stars.

4 held for sexually assaulting woman, girl on moving bus after social media alert in UP's Agra
Agra (UP) (PTI): Four people were arrested, after a prompt response by police following a social media alert, for allegedly sexually assaulting a woman and a girl inside a moving bus here, officials said on Tuesday.
According to an official police statement, at 12:27 am on April 27, information was received on the social media platform X about an incident of sexual assault on a bus travelling from Kanpur to Ahmedabad, which was approaching Namner crossing in Agra.
Acting under the direction of Police Commissioner Deepak Kumar, the Agra Police social media team immediately alerted the Rakabganj police station within minutes and coordinated with the victims to confirm the incident and obtain the exact location, it stated.
Police teams launched intensive checking at Namner crossing and intercepted the bus as it reached the spot. The four accused involved in the incident were apprehended on the spot, and legal action was initiated against them, the statement said.
The police said the swift response and coordination between the social media team and field units ensured timely action, bringing relief to the victims and other passengers, who expressed gratitude towards the police, it added.
