Aus vs SA 1st Test: Hypocrisy is mind-boggling: Virender Sehwag slams Gabba pitch
New Delhi, Dec 18: Former India batter Virender Sehwag on Sunday slammed Australia for the Gabba pitch after the opening Test against South Africa ended within two days.
As many as 34 wickets fell in 142 overs -- 15 wickets on the first day and another 19 on the second day -- as South Africa were bowled out for 152 and 99 with Australia claiming a six-wicket win.
Australia, who were all out for 218 in their first innings, chased down 34 in 7.5 overs to emerge winner.
"142 overs and not even lasting 2 days and they have the audacity to lecture on what kind of pitches are needed. Had it happened in India, it would have been labelled end of test cricket, ruining test cricket and what not. The Hypocrisy is mind-boggling," Sehwag wrote on his Twitter handle.
South Africa skipper Dean Elgar and former Australian players, including Ricky Ponting and Mark Waugh, were also critical of the Gabba track.

Drunk woman held for hitting police constable with car in Rohini
New Delhi (PTI): A 40-year-old woman was arrested for allegedly ramming a car into a police barricade and injuring a constable in northwest Delhi's Rohini, police said on Friday.
The incident took place on December 24 in Sector 11 of Rohini where a barricade had been placed, they said.
According to police, a caller informed them that a female driver, apparently drunk, had hit a police constable with her car.
A police team rushed to the spot and found the white car that had struck the barricade.
The woman, a resident of Sector 16, Rohini, was found to be under the influence of alcohol, police said.
Constable Rohit, posted with the 1st Battalion of the Delhi Armed Police, who suffered injuries in the collision, was taken to BSA Hospital for treatment, police said.
They said the woman, who works in the private sector, was returning home from a birthday party when the incident occurred.
She was arrested, and her car was seized, they said.
