Nairobi(PTI): India's Amit Khatri won silver medal in the 10km race walk for men at the World U-20 Athletics Championship here on Saturday after the 4x400m mixed relay team won bronze a few days back.
Khatri clocked 42:17.94 minutes to finish behind host country's Heristone Wanyoni of Kenya, who won the gold with a timing of 42:10.84 minutes. Khatri did lead the race till Wanyoni overtook him during the last two laps of the race.
Paul McGrath of Spain won the bronze medal with a timing of 42:26.11 minutes. Both gold and bronze medal winners recorded their personal best timings at the event.

Panambur: A two-wheeler rider died on the spot after a lorry allegedly hit his bike near the Indian Oil petrol pump in Panambur on Thursday evening.
The deceased has been identified as Shivadas Ganapathi Nayak, a native of Ankola taluk in Uttara Kannada district, who was residing in a rented house in Bejai, Mangaluru.
According to police, Shivadas was employed at a pharmaceutical manufacturing company in Baikampady and was returning home after work when the accident occurred. Police said the lorry hit his bike from behind. He fell and was run over by the rear wheel of the lorry, resulting in his death.
Mangaluru North Traffic Police Inspector Shivakumar M. and his team visited the scene, conducted an inspection, and initiated further legal proceedings. Further investigation is underway.
