Ahmedabad, May 22 (PTI): Mitchell Marsh struck his maiden IPL century, while Nicholas Pooran hit his fifth half-ton this season as Lucknow Super Giants scored a massive 235 for 2 against hosts Gujarat Titans in an Indian Premier League match here on Thursday.
Marsh scored 117 off 64 balls, studded with 10 boundaries and 8 sixes, while Pooran made a blazing 56 not out off 27 deliveries as the duo shared a 121-run stand for the second wicket.
Marsh was especially harsh on GT spinner Rashid Khan in the 12th over, milking him for 25 runs, including two sixes and three boundaries, as the Australian reached the 100-run mark off 56 balls.
Earlier, Marsh also shared a 91-run opening-wicket stand with Aiden Markram (36).
GT have already secured a playoff berth, while LSG have been eliminated from the playoff race.

Belagavi (Karnataka) (PTI): A grand ‘Tirupati Venkateshwara Temple’ is set to come up atop a hill in Kolikoppa village on the outskirts of Belagavi city at an estimated cost of Rs 100 crore.
For this mega project, seven acres of land were officially handed over to the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) administration on behalf of the Belagavi Reddy Sangha, a press release said.
The president of Karnataka State Reddy Janasangha, Lakshmana Reddy, and the president of Belagavi Reddy Sangha, Ramanna Mullura, handed over the land documents to TTD board member S Naresh Kumar.
According to the release, this temple will be constructed on the model of the Tirumala Tirupati temple within the next two years.
Along with the temple, accommodation facilities for devotees and continuous anna prasada (food distribution) services will be provided, similar to Tirupati, TTD member Kumar said in the release.
According to Kumar, TTD has been allocating funds for the construction, renovation, and rejuvenation of temples across the country.
TTD will provide 80 per cent of the funding for the construction of the new temple in Belagavi. The remaining 20 per cent will be raised through contributions from the Belagavi Reddy Sangha (10 per cent) and public donations (10 per cent) to complete the project, he added.
