Bengaluru: Senior Congress leader and Kerala MP Shashi Tharoor on Thursday expressed his disappointment after the Indian Cricket team that is set to take on England for the fourth test of the series, left ace Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin out of the playing XI.

Taking to Twitter immediately after the toss where Indian skipper Virat Kohli announced the playing XI, Tharoor said he could not believe it. He said leaving Ashwin out on England’s most spin-friendly ground was a death-wish and it was as if the team want to lose the game.

He also criticised the team’s idea of leaving out pacer Mohammed Shami.

"I can't believe they left out Ashwin again, on England's most spin-friendly ground. This team is unbelievable. You pick your five best bowlers, @ashwinravi99 has to be the first or second name. Omitting him & @MdShami11 at the Oval is like a death-wish -- as if you want to lose!" he wrote.

Going into the fourth test, India made two changes in the playing XI bringing Shardhul Thakur and Umesh Yadav in places of Ishant Sharma and Mohammed Shami.

Dhanbad (Jharkhand) (PTI): At least four workers died after being buried under coal slurry in Jharkhand's Dhanbad district on Saturday, a police official said.

The incident took place at Moonidih coal washery in the command area of Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL).

"Bodies of all four workers were dug out of debris during a rescue operation," Putki police station in-charge Waqar Hussain told PTI.

The incident took place when coal slurry was being loaded into trucks by workers, during which a large chunk of slurry fell and trapped several workers underneath, officials said.

The deceased have been identified as Manik Bauri, Dinesh Bauri, Deepak Bauri, and Hemlal Gope.

Meanwhile, the family members of the deceased and local villagers placed the bodies in front of the washery gate and began a protest.

They demanded compensation, jobs for dependents and action against those responsible for the incident.

Police and administration officials are trying to pacify the protesters, an official said.
