Al Jazeera reporter Mohammed Wishah was killed in the latest Israeli strikes in Gaza on Wednesday.
Wishah, a correspondent with Al Jazeera Mubasher, died after an Israeli drone attack targeted a vehicle he was travelling in.
The network reported that an “Israeli strike” hit the vehicle carrying him.
“He was targeted and brutally killed while he was driving on the main road in Gaza City,” the network added.
Following the killing of Wishah, the total number of Palestinian journalists killed by Israel since the war began in October 2023 has reached 262.
According to a report by Al Jazeera, Gaza’s Government Media Office condemned the killing and “systematic targeting, killing, and assassination of Palestinian journalists by the Israeli occupation.”
“We hold the Israeli occupation, the United States administration, and countries complicit in the crime of genocide, such as the United Kingdom, Germany, and France, fully responsible for committing these heinous and brutal crimes,” it added.

Bagalkot: The Congress has secured a victory in the Bagalkot Assembly by-election, with its candidate Umesh Meti winning the seat after maintaining a lead from the first round of counting till the end.
The seat had fallen vacant following the death of sitting MLA H Y Meti. Umesh Meti, his son, has now been elected to the Assembly.
Party leaders attributed the victory to a combination of factors, including sympathy votes, the state government’s schemes, and campaign strategies led by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and senior leader Satish Jarkiholi.
The Congress maintained a consistent lead throughout the counting process, eventually securing a decisive win in the constituency.
