French police: 2 dead in knife attack near church in Nice
Paris: French police say two people have been killed and several others injured in a knife attack near a church in the Mediterranean city of Nice.
The assailant was arrested after the Thursday morning attack and taken to a nearby hospital after being injured during his arrest, a police official said. He was believed to be acting alone, the official said. She was not authorized to be publicly named.

Trekking turns deadly as 53-year-old woman dies after drowning in river in Kundapur
Kundapur: A 53-year-old woman reportedly fell and drowned in the waters of a river while on a trekking trip near Bhagimane in Hosangady here on Sunday.
The deceased woman, who is identified as Shubhashri Karanth, owned a medical store in Kundapur.
Karanth is said to have gone on a trekking trip with eight to 10 other trekkers from Kundapur to Metkalgudda in Hosangady when the accident occurred.
Her body has been taken to the mortuary of the Government Hospital in Kundapur.
Amasebailu Police have visited the spot and held a probe. Further details on the incident are awaited.
