New Delhi: The Indian Embassy in Israel on Saturday issued fresh advisory urging Indian nationals in the country to exercise heightened caution as tensions between Israel and Iran continue to rise.

In a tweet posted on its official handle on X (@indemtel), the Embassy advised, “In view of the prevailing situation in the region, all Indian nationals in Israel are advised to remain vigilant and follow the safety protocols issued by the Israeli authorities and Home Front Command.”

Assuring safety of Indian nationals, the Embassy urged Indian nationals to avoid unnecessary travel within Israel and are advised to stay close to authorized safety shelters. The Embassy has also provided emergency contact information for any assistance, including a 24x7 helpline (+972 54-7520711, +972 54-3278392) and an email address (cons1.telaviv@mea.gov.in).

The Embassy was issued instruction following a phone call between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Israeli counterpart, Benjamin Netanyahu. Following the call, PM Modi posted on X: “Received a phone call from PM Netanyahu of Israel. He briefed me on the evolving situation. I shared India’s concerns and emphasised the need for early restoration of peace and stability in the region.”

Bengaluru (PTI): A car parked at an AAI building inauguration venue caught fire on Saturday, triggering brief panic, officials said.

The vehicle was completely gutted in the flames. However, no loss of life or injuries were reported, they said.

The incident occurred during the inauguration programme of the AAI's new building located on the Devanahalli--Sulibele Road near here. The programme was attended by the Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar.

A fire brigade deployed at the venue immediately reached the spot and doused the flames. Officials said the cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained, and an investigation is underway.
