Beijing: A disturbing incident at a restaurant in Hangzhou has sparked outrage after a two-year-old boy urinated into a glass meant for customers, with his mother defending the act.
According to a report by the South China Morning Post, a diner, identified as Tang, witnessed the incident at Fuyuanju Restaurant on March 13 and later reported it to local media.
Tang recounted that the child, who was dining with his mother and two elderly relatives, suddenly stood up, pulled down his trousers, and urinated into a glass. When one of the elderly family members suggested using a bin, the boy’s mother dismissed the idea, saying, "Just let him pee directly into the glass."
Tang expressed frustration that the restaurant staff, despite being nearby, did not intervene. The urine-filled glass remained on the table, creating an unbearable odor for other diners. Eventually, Tang and her friends had to request a staff member to remove it.
While the boy’s mother later apologized, she defended her actions, stating, "We're sorry, but he really couldn't hold it anymore. So he peed in the cup."
The incident has drawn widespread criticism on Chinese social media, with many comparing it to the recent “Haidilao Urinating Gate” scandal, where two teenagers were caught urinating into a hotpot at a well-known restaurant chain, causing public outrage and financial repercussions for the company.

New Delhi (PTI): Sidelined AAP Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha on Friday shared on Instagram a video titled "Voice Raised Price Paid", a compilation of clips of him raising various issues in Parliament, amid his ongoing rift with his party.
"With due respect, to those who are questioning my parliamentary performance, I will let my work do the talking," he said in the post.
The AAP on April 2 removed Chadha as its deputy leader in the Rajya Sabha and has accused him of shying away from raising his voice against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Centre in Parliament and instead engaging in "soft PR".
A combative Chadha has dismissed the party's allegations as "lies" and said that he went to Parliament to raise people's issues and not to create ruckus.
Since his removal as the AAP's deputy leader in the Upper House, Chadha has shared several videos and posts on social media, making it clear that he will not take his demotion lying down.
