Khartoum: Sudan's ousted president Omar al-Bashir, who is wanted by the International Criminal Court on charges of genocide and war crimes, will not be extradited, the country's new military rulers said Friday.
"The president is currently in custody," the head of the military council's political committee, Lieutenant General Omar Zain al-Abdin, told a news conference.
"We as a military council, we will not deliver the president abroad during our period" in office, Abdin said when asked about the ICC arrest warrant.

Kolar: An incident of a youngster stabbing his lover to death allegedly following a couple of days of argument with her was reported from the outskirts of Kolar town on Thursday morning.
On learning of the crime, the local resident caught hold of the murder accused, Chiranjeevi of Yelaburgi village in Bangarpet taluk, and handed him over to Kolar Town Police.
Chiranjeevi is accused of murdering 27-year-old Sujatha, a resident of Dasarahosahalli in Bangarpet taluk, who was employed in the Narasapura Industrial Estate.
Associates of the lovers reportedly noticed the duo having repeated arguments over the last few days. On Thursday morning, Sujatha was on her way to work when Chiranjeevi is said to have met on the Bangarpet Road and stabbed her with a knife to death.
Kolar Town Police officers are investigating the incident.
