Raipur: Four Border Security Force (BSF) personnel were killed and two injured in an encounter with Naxals in Chhattisgarh Thursday, police said.

The skirmish took place in a dense forest near Mahla village in Kanker district when a team of BSF's 114th battalion was out on a search operation, police said.

"Four BSF troopers were killed and two injured in the incident," Deputy Inspector General (anti-Naxal operations) Sundarraj P told PTI.

Reinforcement was rushed to the spot, he added.

Polling in the Kanker Lok Sabha constituency will be held along with two other seats - Mahasamund and Rajnandgaon - in the second phase of Lok Sabha elections in Chhattisgarh on April 18.

Bengaluru: The Special Investigation Team (SIT) has taken immediate action, arresting JDS leader and former minister HD Revanna on Saturday. The arrest is in connection with the alleged abduction of a woman, a development that has surfaced alongside a broader sex scandal.

All eyes are now on Hassan MP Prajwal Revanna, who is reportedly set to return to India today, May 5th. With his arrival expected, the SIT stands ready to take him into custody. It is speculated that the detention process may unfold at any of several airports including Mangaluru, Kochi, Goa, or Bengaluru.

Following the arrest, standard procedures will likely involve transportation to a local police station for further processing. Medical examination is expected to follow, after which SIT officials intend to bring Prajwal Revanna to Bengaluru for ongoing investigation.
