Kasaragod: Among the casualties in the helicopter crash that occurred in Arunachal Pradesh, a soldier from Kasaragod was also killed, it is learned.

The deceased Army person has been identified as K V Ashwin (24), son of Ashokan and K.V Kaushalya, residents of Chervatthur Kaatuvalappi.

The officers of the Indian Army reportedly called the residence of the deceased soldier and intimated his family about his demise in the helicopter crash.

Ashwin had joined the Army four years ago as an engineer in the electronics and mechanical department. He had recently been home on a month-long vacation from the Army and returned thereafter.

On Friday, around 10.45 am, the Indian Army’s ultra-modern light helicopter crashed in Migging in the Siyang district of Arunachal Pradesh. There were five passengers in the helicopter at the time of the crash. The bodies of four passengers were recovered following the disaster. The mortal remains of the deceased soldier may be brought to his hometown within two days, sources have informed.

Ramanagara: A dispute between a father and his son over financial matters culminated in a fatal outcome as the father allegedly murdered his own son. The incident occurred in Lakkojanahalli village of Ramanagara taluk on Saturday.

The victim, identified as Bhaskar (31), fell victim to his father Krishnappa's violent actions. Krishnappa, the accused, has been arrested by the Ramanagara Rural Police Station.

After receiving the information, the police arrived at the scene and transferred Bhaskar's body to the district hospital for postmortem examination. A case has been filed against Krishnappa, who remains in custody, undergoing interrogation as the investigation progresses.
