New Delhi: Renowned UPSC educator Awadh Ojha, popularly known as 'Ojha Sir,' has joined the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) ahead of the 2025 Delhi Assembly elections. Ojha formally entered the party at its headquarters in the presence of AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal and senior leader Manish Sisodia.
Ojha expressed gratitude to the AAP leadership for providing him with an opportunity to work in the education sector through politics. "The development of educational infrastructure will be my topmost priority," he stated after joining the party.
Arvind Kejriwal welcomed Ojha, highlighting his contribution to education. "Awadh Ojha ji has enabled lakhs of youth to achieve employment and a better life through quality education. His entry into politics will further strengthen the country's education system," Kejriwal said.
Manish Sisodia, in a post on X (formerly Twitter), remarked that Ojha's inclusion would enhance AAP’s efforts in the education sector. "Under Arvind Kejriwal ji's leadership, AAP has achieved historic milestones in education. With Ojha ji's addition, our mission will gain further momentum," he wrote.
Ojha, originally from Gonda, Uttar Pradesh, is widely recognised for his unique teaching methods combining history, geopolitics, and current affairs for UPSC aspirants. Despite failing to clear the UPSC exam himself, he transitioned into teaching and eventually founded the IQRA IAS Academy in Pune in 2019.
With the Delhi Assembly elections scheduled for February 2025, Ojha’s association with AAP is expected to bolster the party’s focus on education reform.

Saharsa (PTI): More than 150 children were taken ill after allegedly consuming food that was part of the mid-day meal in a school in Bihar’s Saharsa district, a senior official said on Thursday.
The incident occurred at a middle school in Baluaha village of the district.
The official said that 115 children were undergoing treatment at the Sadar Hospital, while around 50 students were admitted to Mahishi Public Health Centre.
“We received information that several children fell ill after consuming the mid-day meal in Baluaha. The children were initially treated at the primary health centre, but later, many were referred to the Sadar Hospital,” Saharsa District Magistrate Deepesh Kumar told reporters.
“According to doctors, the health condition of the children has improved, but they will be kept under observation for some time. There is no need to panic. Some kids are having mild fever. They are being treated accordingly,” Kumar said.
Meanwhile, family members of some children claimed that a snake was found in the container in which cooked pulses was stored at the school.
Of the 545 students present in the school, 200 had already eaten their meals by the time the snake was spotted, and later complained of stomach ache and vomiting, they said.
Regarding the claims, the DM said food samples have been collected from the school.
“We will be able to comment on this only after the results of the tested samples arrive,” he said.
