Hyderabad, Apr 22: Decorated doubles badminton player Jwala Gutta and cricketer-turned actor Vishnu Vishal got hitched here on Thursday, family sources said.

The couple tied the knot in a private ceremony, sources close to Gutta told PTI.

Telangana Excise Minister V Srinivas Goud, was among the prominent persons, who attended the wedding and blessed the couple.

Jwala and Vishal had recently announced their marriage on social media.

Photos of the pre-wedding ceremony of Jwala and Vishal were also circulated on social media.

Vishal played a few Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA) league games before a leg injury ended his cricketing career.

The 36-year-old then went on to act in Tamil films and produce a few like 'Silukkuvarupatti Singam,' 'Velainu Vandhutta Vellaikaaran' and 'Ratsasan.'

Gutta was earlier married to fellow shuttler Chetan Anand.

Vishal was also married before and has a son from the marriage.

Koppal: Tension prevailed in Halwarti village of Koppal taluk after a clash reportedly broke out between members of Dalit and upper-caste communities over the hoisting of an Ambedkar flag during the Beeralingeshwara fair.

According to police, a verbal argument between youths from the two communities escalated into a physical confrontation, leading to unrest in the village.

In a related development, it has been alleged that members of the upper-caste community entered the house of a Dalit youth, identified as Gavisiddappa Hosamani, damaged the door and vandalised the front portion of the house.

As a precautionary measure, additional police personnel have been deployed in the village to maintain law and order.

Police said a complaint has been registered at the Koppal Rural Police Station and five persons have been arrested in connection with the incident. Further investigation is under way.
