Bidar: Miscreants have once again insulted a portrait of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar displayed on a banner in the village of Villaspur, located within the jurisdiction of the Janawada Police Station.

It has been reported that, during the night, the portrait of Dr. Ambedkar on a banner celebrating the Bhima Koregaon Victory was desecrated with black paint. Upon noticing this in the morning, Dalit community members gathered at the location and expressed their outrage, immediately informing the police.

On December 12, a similar incident occurred when a slipper was thrown at the Ambedkar statue in Villaspur. District authorities had visited the scene, and Dalit organisations across the district staged protests in condemnation of the act. Two individuals were arrested in connection with that incident.

The Janawada Police PSI has visited the scene of the current incident.

Kochi, Jan 6: Human remains, including a skull and bones, were found inside an abandoned house near Chottanikkara in Ernakulam district on Monday, police said.

The remains were found stored in a fridge within the house, which has reportedly remained unoccupied for two decades.

The property, situated on an expansive private estate, had been locked and neglected throughout this period.

Police launched an inspection of the house following a tip-off received at the Chottanikkara police station.

The discovery was made during their search of the premises.

Police said they have launched a detailed investigation into the incident to determine the circumstances surrounding the case.
