Bulandshahr: A video showing local BJP leader Rahul Balmiki in a compromising position with a married woman inside a car at a cremation ground in Bulandshahr has gone viral, sparking outrage and demands for action.
The incident reportedly took place at the Kailawan village crematorium under the Shikarpur Kotwali police limits. Locals, suspicious of a car parked at the isolated site, approached the vehicle and allegedly found Balmiki, who serves as the district minister of the BJP's Scheduled Caste Morcha, partially undressed and in an objectionable position with the woman.
A video from the scene shows Balmiki pleading with the villagers for forgiveness, touching their feet, and begging for mercy. The woman, said to be married, is seen covering her face with a dupatta in an attempt to hide her identity. Balmiki is heard saying, “Bhai, tumhare paer padta hoon” (Brother, I touch your feet) in the viral footage.
Despite the public circulation of the video, no police action has been taken as of yet. According to reports, Balmiki has gone into hiding following the backlash.
Rahul Balmiki was seen as a rising figure within the BJP’s Scheduled Caste Morcha at the district level. However, the party has not issued any official statement on the matter or clarified whether disciplinary proceedings will be initiated.
This incident follows a similar controversy in Madhya Pradesh involving BJP leader Manoharlal Dhakad, who was caught on camera engaging in an obscene act with a woman on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway. In that case, the police registered a case and seized the vehicle used, citing CCTV footage as evidence.

New Delhi (PTI): The Supreme Court on Wednesday cancelled bail to Olympic medallist Sushil Kumar in the murder case of former junior national wrestling champion Sagar Dhankar at the Chhatrasal Stadium in the national capital.
A bench of justices Sanjay Karol and Prashant Kumar Mishra set aside the March 4 order of the Delhi High Court granting bail to the wrestler.
The wrestler has been asked to surrender within a week.
The top court's order came on an appeal filed by Ashok Dhankar, father of Sagar Dhankar, challenging the order passed by the Delhi High Court granting bail to Kumar.
Kumar and others are accused of fatally assaulting Sagar Dhankar in May 2021 over an alleged property dispute.
Two of Sagar Dhankar's friends were also injured in the assault.
According to the postmortem report, the victim suffered cerebral damage from the impact of a blunt object.
Kumar was arrested in May 2021 and a sessions court had granted him a week's interim bail for his knee surgery on July 19, 2023.
The trial court in October 2022 framed IPC charges, including murder, criminal conspiracy, intimidation and rioting with a deadly weapon against Kumar aside from the Arms Act, among others.
The trial court noted that after being abducted and brought to the stadium, Sagar Dhankar was severely assaulted by several accused persons with baseball and hockey sticks.
