Lucknow: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday received backlash from the social media users as pictures of BJP flag placed over the Indian flag on the mortal remains of former UP CM Kalyan Singh went viral across social media platforms.
In one of the pictures shared by several social media users including journalists and activists, UP CM Yogi Adityanath is seen paying his final respect to the mortal remains of Kalyan Singh. However, a BJP flag is overlapping the Indian tricolor that was actually placed on his mortal remains.
Users were quick to take note of the incident and slammed the BJP for disrespecting the Indian flag by overlapping it with its party flag.
According to the Flag Code of India 2002, “no other flag or bunting should be placed higher than or above or side by side with the National Flag; nor should any object including flowers or garlands or emblem be placed on or above the Flag-mast from which the Flag is flown” a user reminded BJP on Twitter.
Several users demanded action against the concerned people who were responsible for it while others slammed CM Adityanath and other senior leaders for not speaking up against it.
तिरंगे के ऊपर भाजपा का झंडा रखा गया है. क्या ये तिरंगे का अपमान नहीं है?

Noida (PTI): A 46-year-old businessman was burnt to death after his moving car caught fire in Uttar Pradesh’s Gautam Buddha Nagar district, police said on Tuesday.
According to police, the victim was identified as Rajkumar Singhal, who was engaged in the paint business. The incident occurred late on Monday night near Sorkha village under the Sector 113 police station area.
Station House Officer Krishna Gopal Sharma said Singhal was driving towards Parthala Chowk when his vehicle suddenly caught fire for reasons yet to be ascertained.
Singhal was unable to get out of the car and died in the blaze, the SHO said.
Fire tenders reached the spot after receiving information, but the car had already been gutted, police said. The body has been sent for post-mortem examination and an investigation is underway.
Police suspect the presence of paint or other inflammable material in the car may have caused the fire to spread rapidly.
