Bodies of 2 newborns found in vacant plot in UP's Shamli
Muzaffarnagar (UP), Jan 14: Bodies of two newborn children were found in a vacant plot in the Shamli district's Jalalabad town on Sunday, police said.
The bodies were found in the Thana Bhawan police station area.
"Two bodies of newborn children have been found. It appears that they are premature. We have sent the bodies for postmortem," Circle officer Shreshtha told reporters.
She said that an investigating is going on into the matter.
Police is trying to identify those who left the bodies there, she added.

Two children drown in farm pond in Karnataka
Tumakuru (Karnataka) (PTI): Two children died after slipping and falling into a farm pond near Benakanahalli on Sunday, police said.
The deceased have been identified as Suchitra (11) and her brother Ravindra (9) from Kasapura village in Midigeshi hobli.
According to police, preliminary information suggests that the children had gone to graze goats.
They are believed to have slipped and fallen into the farm pond while attempting to drink water.
The bodies have been sent to Madhugiri Public Hospital for post-mortem.
A case has been registered at the Midigeshi police station.
