Bengaluru: Opposition leader R. Ashok strongly attacked the state Congress government, urging that the upcoming Dussehra celebrations should not become a platform for another large-scale scam. Ashok expressed his concerns on the social networking site X, highlighting the need for transparency and integrity in the celebrations.

Ashok welcomed the government's decision to celebrate the Mysuru Dussehra festival with grandeur but warned against the corruption that marred last year's event. He referenced the controversy of previous year involving the Congress government, which allegedly demanded a commission from internationally renowned sarod player Pandit Taranath.

He stressed that this year’s Dussehra must be free from corruption to preserve the culture and heritage of Karnataka. Ashok emphasised that the festival, a symbol of Karnataka's rich cultural legacy, deserves to be celebrated with dedication and respect. He warned that failing to uphold these standards could lead to public discontent.
