In a significant step towards India's lunar exploration ambitions, the Chandrayaan-3 spacecraft has commenced its powered descent with the aim of achieving a soft landing on the lunar south pole. The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) confirmed that the spacecraft's descent phase is underway as it inches closer to touching down on the lunar surface.
Chandrayaan-3's targeted landing site at the lunar South Pole holds immense scientific potential, with the potential to uncover new insights about the moon's geology and history. The mission's success would mark a milestone for India, making it the first country to achieve a controlled landing in this challenging region of the moon.
