New Delhi: Indian Youth Congress President Srinivas BV has sent a legal notice to News Channel Aaj Tak and its news anchor Sudhir Chaudhry for comparing party leader Rahul Gandhi to robbers.

The legal notice, sent on Sunday, added that the channel’s official Twitter handle had also posted a video of the clip from Sudhir’s show ‘Black and White’ wherein he can be seen comparing Rahul Gandhi with someone who has been accused and caught for an offence of robbery.

“It is submitted that while creating and publishing the said video, you have flagrantly violated journalism norms and ethics by callously publishing the said video that wrongly depicts Mr. Gandhi as someone accused of any offence of robbery,” the legal notice stated.

It also added that the video was published deliberately and maliciously with a mala-fide intent to harm the reputation of Rahul Gandhi at the behest of his political opponent.

The notice has also demanded that the video should be deleted immediately from all the platforms and to telecast an unconditional apology from the channel and to post the same from the Twitter handle as well.

“Failing which we shall be constrained to initiate appropriate legal remedies both civil and criminal entirely at your cost and consequences.” It further added.

New Delhi: Airlines have asked passengers to reach airports at least three hours before departure after the Centre increased security measures in response to Pakistan’s ongoing attack, reported India Today.

According to the Ministry of Civil Aviation, all passengers will now face a Secondary Ladder Point Check (SLPC) before boarding. The Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) has directed all airports and airlines to step up security.

Air India said, “Passengers are advised to arrive at least three hours prior to departure. Check-in closes 75 minutes before departure.” Akasa Air and IndiGo issued similar advisories, asking passengers to allow more time for security checks.

All passengers must carry valid photo ID and will undergo secondary checks before boarding. Visitor entry to terminals has been banned, and Air Marshals will be deployed as required.

The moves come as India’s defence systems shot down Pakistani missiles and drones in Jammu, Punjab, and Rajasthan. At least 21 airports are shut till May 10, and several flights are cancelled. Civilian aircraft are avoiding airspace over Pakistan and India’s western corridor, data from Flightradar24 shows.
