Nuh: The Congress secured significant victories in the Muslim-dominated Assembly constituencies of Nuh, Ferozepur Jhirka, and Punahana in Haryana. These regions had witnessed communal tensions last year in July.
Aftab Ahmed emerged victorious from Nuh, winning by a margin of over 46,963 votes after 15 rounds of counting. Mamman Khan, who had been accused in the Nuh riots and was behind bars for several weeks, led with the highest margin of over 92,449 votes after 17 rounds of counting.
In Punahana, Congress's Mohammad Ilyas won with a lead of over 31,916 votes after the completion of all 15 rounds of counting. The BJP candidates, however, struggled in these constituencies. Sanjay Singh finished a distant third in Nuh, Naseem Ahmed took second place in Ferozepur Jhirka, and in Punahana, Mohd Aizaz Khan finished third.
