New Delhi: In response to his previous claim that "Armed Forces need to be prepared for war," Defence Minister Rajnath Singh commented on Friday, that he made a statement to ensure that peace in India will never be disturbed under any circumstances.

Singh emphasized that although India has always argued for peace, it must always be ready for conflict in order to bring about peace in both India and the rest of the globe, given the current geopolitical climate. Singh also emphasized India's motto, "Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam."

Speaking to reporters, Rajnath Singh asserted, "Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam is a message that only India has spread worldwide." India has and always will be an ambassador of peace. However, I informed the army today that we must always be prepared for conflict in order to preserve peace in India and around the world, considering the current geopolitical climate. I said this to ensure that India's peace is maintained at all times. Union Minister Rajnath Singh visited the Khatu Shyam Mandir in Lucknow and said prayers there as well.

The first Joint Commanders' Conference (JCC) was presided over by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on September 5 in Lucknow. Singh emphasized the importance of the three services working together to address future problems. Besides appreciating the efforts being made to strengthen integration and collaboration among the three Services, he praised the Armed Forces for their crucial role in defending national interests and pursuing the goal of "Aatmanirbhar Bharat."Singh said that India is a peaceful country and that the Armed Forces must be ready for battle in order to maintain peace, in keeping with the conference's subject, "Sashakt aur Surakshit Bharat: Transforming the Armed Forces."

In addition to highlighting the need of developing a consistent military strategy and becoming ready for any future conflict scenarios, he emphasized the need of responding to provocations in a coordinated, timely, and appropriate manner. The Defense Minister urged the Commanders to analyze these incidents, forecast potential issues the nation may face in the future, and remain ready to handle the "unexpected," making reference to the ongoing conflicts between Russia and Ukraine, Israel and Hamas, and the current state of affairs in Bangladesh.

He emphasized the necessity for the highest military leadership to conduct a more thorough and comprehensive investigation given the circumstances surrounding the northern border and the events in neighboring countries, which are threatening regional peace and stability.

Bengaluru: Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL) has introduced an integrated smart airside safety system at Kempegowda International Airport to improve operational safety at key intersection zones.

According to The Hindu, the system has been designed to enhance safety at Cross Service Roads (CSRs), where aircraft and ground vehicle movements intersect.

According to BIAL, the system integrates AI-based computer vision, automation, and centralised monitoring to manage right-of-way movements and reduce the risk of human error.

“CRSs are among the most sensitive areas within airport operations, requiring precise and seamless coordination between aircraft and ground vehicles. Traditionally, right of way protection at these intersections relied on manual or semi-manual inset light activation, creating dependencies on human intervention, increasing the risk of delays and limiting operational visibility,” TH quoted BIAL as saying.

The new system uses real-time detection of vehicle movement, risk assessment, and automated signalling. AI-enabled cameras identify potential conflicts and trigger automated inset light signals to ensure aircraft priority. Normal operations resume once the area is confirmed clear.

“Based on these detections, the system triggers automated inset light activation to protect aircraft right‑of‑way and restores normal signalling once the intersection is confirmed clear. A centralised monitoring and analytics platform digitally logs all events, strengthening governance, compliance, and operational control,” BIAL said.

By embedding technology into operations, the system creates a data-driven separation layer between aircraft and ground vehicles, significantly reducing human error, especially during night and low-visibility conditions.

“Precision-led signal activation improves traffic flow, minimises unnecessary stoppage and enhances turnaround efficiency. It also establishes a scalable foundation for predictive safety analytics, enabling trend analysis, peak-hour optimisation, compliance mapping and risk forecasting to support continuous improvement and stronger airside governance,” BIAL said.
