New Delhi: A 15-year-old lad walked into the Paharganj police station with a knife in his chest after being stabbed outside his school by three youngsters on Wednesday, according to the Hindustan Times.
According to reports, the injured student was taken to Kalawati Saran Hospital. He was later transferred to Ram Manohar Lohia (RML) Hospital, where physicians removed the knife.
Police said all three accused, aged 15 and 16, were arrested within hours of the incident and a case has been registered under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Arms Act.
Investigations revealed that one of the attackers suspected the victim of starting a fight against him two weeks earlier and desired to seeking revenge. He and two others confronted the boy at the school gate. The Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central) Nidhin Valsan said, “One of the minors stabbed him with a knife while the others held him back. One of them also threatened the victim with a broken beer bottle.”
The knife and the broken bottle used in the assault were seized from the spot.
This is the second incident of a student stabbing in the capital this year. In January, a 14-year-old boy in East Delhi died after being attacked outside his school by five schoolmates and two adults.
