New Delhi: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday appealed to India’s youth, asserting that the country’s Gen Z and young citizens have the power to revive democracy through the principles of satya (truth) and ahimsa (non-violence).
Addressing a press conference, Gandhi intensified his ‘vote chori’ allegations against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Election Commission, claiming massive voter fraud in the 2024 Haryana Assembly elections. He urged the youth to peacefully express their desire to restore democratic norm
“I want Gen-Z to take this seriously, because your future is being taken away from you. They are the one being stolen from,” he said at the start of his presentation.
Gandhi added that India’s young citizens could restore democracy by peacefully asserting their demand for a democratic India and resisting what he described as a “wholesale theft and murder of democracy.”
The Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha alleged that the Haryana Assembly elections in 2024 were rigged in favour of the BJP, claiming that 25 lakh votes were manipulated through 5.21 lakh duplicate voters, 93,174 invalid voters, and 19.26 lakh bulk voters.
