Activist Saket Gokhale has filed an FIR against television news channel ‘Aaj Tak’ allegedly for spreading communal hatred by airing a show on October 15, a day before the Apex Court concluded hearing in the Ayodhya case.

Gokhale had asked the news channel to take down the tweet from its official twitter handle otherwise threatening of legal consequences. The tweet from the news channel originally in Hindi read "Janmbhoomi hamari, Ram Hamare, Masjid wale kahan se padhare" (meaning "The birthplace is ours, Lord Ram is ours, where did the people asking for Masjid came from”) the tagline of channel’s special show on October 15 evening.

Taking note of tweet, Gokhale also issued a formal legal notice to the channel before filing an FIR with UP Police.

In a tweet Gokhale also added that he was lodging a complaint against the channel with the News Broadcasting Standards Authority (NBSA) for violating its guidelines while reporting the Ayodhya issue.

Aaj Tak’s controversial tweet received mixed response on the micro-blogging site with many slamming the channel for having a clear right-wing agenda and for spreading and inciting communal hatred among the people of the country over the issue.

Dhanbad (Jharkhand) (PTI): At least four workers died after being buried under coal slurry in Jharkhand's Dhanbad district on Saturday, a police official said.

The incident took place at Moonidih coal washery in the command area of Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL).

"Bodies of all four workers were dug out of debris during a rescue operation," Putki police station in-charge Waqar Hussain told PTI.

The incident took place when coal slurry was being loaded into trucks by workers, during which a large chunk of slurry fell and trapped several workers underneath, officials said.

The deceased have been identified as Manik Bauri, Dinesh Bauri, Deepak Bauri, and Hemlal Gope.

Meanwhile, the family members of the deceased and local villagers placed the bodies in front of the washery gate and began a protest.

They demanded compensation, jobs for dependents and action against those responsible for the incident.

Police and administration officials are trying to pacify the protesters, an official said.
