First tea on the morning of independence: Manish Sisodia’s first post after release from jail
New Delhi: AAP leader Manish Sisodia, after walking out of jail following a 17-month stint, shared his first public message on social media. He posted a picture with his wife, describing it as the "first tea on the morning of independence."
The Supreme Court granted him bail in connection with alleged corruption cases related to the Delhi liquor policy.
Sisodia expressed his thoughts on X (formerly Twitter), stating, "First tea on the morning of independence...after 17 months! The freedom that the Constitution has given to all of us Indians as a guarantee of the right to life. The freedom that God has given us to breathe in the open air with everyone."

His release is seen as a significant boost for the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) as it prepares for the upcoming Haryana assembly elections and the Delhi assembly elections scheduled early next year. Party leaders claim that his release is a setback to the "mission" to tarnish AAP's reputation.
Sisodia was arrested by the CBI on February 26, 2023, and the Enforcement Directorate took him into custody less than two weeks later. The Supreme Court, in its decision to grant bail, criticized the indefinite delay in his trial, emphasizing that he could not be held in jail indefinitely.

Chennai (PTI): As actor-politician Vijay-led TVK appeared inching towards the majority mark of 118 Assembly seats out of the total 234 segments in Tamil Nadu, celebrations by party workers and fans erupted across the state.
Amid chants of 'TVK' and 'Vijay,' party workers gathered outside the party headquarters at Panaiyur near here and distributed sweets and hailed the party founder as "Muthalamaichar (Chief Minister) Vijay, who continues to be popular as "Thalapathy (Commander, his film title)."
Meanwhile, visuals of Vijay's father Chandrashekar and some family members expressing joy and happiness appeared in some television channels. Vijay's party is leading in at least 108 seats out of the total 234 segments.
