Hyderabad: Two former employees of the Jaggi Vasudev-run Isha Foundation have come forward with disturbing allegations of child sexual abuse within the foundation's educational institutions. Yamini Ragani, a former faculty member of Isha Home School, and her husband, Satya N Ragani, a former regional committee member, addressed the media in Hyderabad on October 17, 2024.
The couple alleged that the foundation is a hub for child sexual abusers under the guise of spirituality. They cited instances of abuse, including a seven-year-old girl raped by a physical education teacher in 2008 and a child who died due to electrocution on World Yoga Day.
Yamini shared her personal experience, stating that her son was abused for three years while studying at Isha Home School. Despite multiple complaints, the management failed to take action, and the perpetrator was allowed to return to the school.
The Isha Foundation has denied the allegations, calling them "baseless" and stating that Yamini was relieved from her position due to various issues. However, Yamini claims that many people have come forward to share similar experiences since she began speaking out.
