Mysuru: The pet dog show remained a popular part of the Mysuru Dasara, with animal lovers enjoying the playfulness, intelligence, acts of mischief and affection too displayed by various breeds of dogs during the show organized at the JK Maidan on Sunday.

Some dogs that were dressed in pink and purples costumes were special attractions on Sunday, especially for the children who attended.

Dog-lovers watched and enjoyed Mudhol, Poodle, Dodo Argentina, Rajapalayam, Pitbull, Cocker Spaniel, Boxer, Pug, Cockapoo, French Bulldog, Old Sheepdog, Irish Setter 'Bugle', Dutch Shepherd, German Shepherd, Chow Chow, Golden Retriever, Border Collie, Burmese Mountain Dog, Lhasa Apso, Great Dane and Siberian Husky, among other breeds of dogs, display their skills and style at the show.

Unlike Dasara 2024, when only 45 breeds were brought to the show, dog owners far greater enthusiasm this year to display their canines. Up to 650 dog breeds were registered by the authorities and 450 breeds were displayed.

The best-reared dogs won the top three prizes at the Dasara show this year, going by the decision of the canine veterinarians and judges with international experience.

In addition, the audience appreciated the dogs for their skills and asked the owners for information regarding breeds of dogs.

Noida (PTI): A 37-year-old man allegedly died by suicide after jumping from the 22nd floor of a posh residential society in Sector 107 here, police said on Monday.

The incident took place on Sunday in Prateek Edifice Society under the jurisdiction of the Sector-39 police station. The deceased has been identified as Sajjal Mehrotra, a company director who lived in the society with his family.

"On Sunday afternoon, he jumped from the balcony of his flat on the 22nd floor," a police official said.

Family members and security guards rushed him to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him dead, police said, adding that no suicide note has been found.

Prima facie, the deceased was suffering from depression, officials said, adding that other aspects of the case are being investigated.

The body has been sent for post-mortem and further legal formalities are underway.

Police said the man got married about 10 years ago and is survived by his wife and two children. No complaint has been received from the family in connection with the incident.
