New Delhi: Trinamool Congress leader and activist Saket Gokhale was on Thursday evening detained again by the Gujarat Police. This is Gokhale’s third detention/arrest by Gujarat Police in less than a month.

Saket Gokhale was detained by the Gujarat Police from Delhi. He is being taken to Ahmedabad via road.

Earlier this month, Saket Gokhale was detained by the Gujarat Police over a tweet endorsing alleged fake news about Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Morbi after a bridge collapse.

Gokhale was arrested by the Gujarat Police from Jaipur in Rajasthan on December 6 without any intimation to the Rajasthan Police, the Trinamool Congress had alleged. He was taken to Ahmedabad, where he was granted bail by a court on December 8, only to be rearrested hours later in another case.

Saket Gokhale was later given bail in the second case on December 9.

New Delhi: Several people are feared trapped after a six-storey building collapsed in Surat's Sachin Pali village. Fifteen have suffered injuries, officials said.

The police and fire department officials have rushed to the spot and are carrying out a rescue operation at the site. Visuals from the spot showed rescue officials working through huge chunks of concrete, looking for those trapped.

According to the officials, the building was in a dilapidated condition and collapsed today after heavy rains lashed the area over the last few days.

More details are awaited.
