(Press Release)-Pune 23rd November, 2022: Bank of Maharashtra is a leading public sector bank of the country. Hindi Diwas was celebrated with great enthusiasm by the Bank on 23rd November, 2022 at Pune. The program was presided over by Shri A. S. Rajeev, Managing Director and CEO, Bank of Maharashtra. Renowned film actress Ms. Mrinal Kulkarni graced the event as chief guest. Shri A. B. Vijayakumar Executive Director; Shri Asheesh Pandey, Executive Director; Shri K. Rajesh Kumar, General Manager (HRM and Rajbhasha) were specially present at the event. General Managers of the Head Office alongwith executives, officers and employees from all over the country were present in large number at the event.

Shri K. Rajesh Kumar, General Manager welcomed the dignitaries and staff members to the program and informed about Hindi implementation in the Bank. On this occasion, the Braille version of the Bank's e-magazine “Mahabank Samvad Sarita” was released by Shri A. S. Rajeev, Ms. Mrinal Kulkarni and dignitaries present on the dais. Cover page of the forthcoming issue of Mahabank Pragati, the quarterly in-house magazine of the Bank, was also inaugurated by the dignitaries present.  In this program, prizes were distributed to the winners of various Hindi competitions organized at All India level.

Message of Hon’ble Home Minister, Hon’ble Minister of State for Finance and message of Governor of RBI received on the occasion of Hindi Diwas were read out during the program. 

Speaking on the occasion, Ms. Mrinal Kulkarni said that Hindi cinema and television have a huge contribution in the promotion of Hindi. While praising the better work done in the field of Rajbhasha, she congratulated the Bank for receiving “Kirti Award” the highest award for Rajbhasha.  

In his address, Shri A. S. Rajeev, MD and CEO said that Hindi and regional languages ​​are playing an important role in providing quality customer services with personal touch. He congratulated the winners of Rajbhasha Trophy and Hindi competitions organised at Head Office. Shri A. B. Vijayakumar, Executive Director in his motivational speech said that we should use simple Hindi in our day to day work. He said that the use of Hindi and regional languages ​​is also helpful for our business growth.   Mr. Asheesh Pandey, Executive Director in his address said that customer is our focus point and languages are the medium of communication with the customers. He said that we all should be proud of our own languages.

Mrs. Sushma Tiwari, AGM (Inspection) delivered a vote of thanks. Program was coordinated and compered by Dr. Rajendra Shrivastava, DGM (Rajbhasha).

Dhanbad (Jharkhand) (PTI): At least four workers died after being buried under coal slurry in Jharkhand's Dhanbad district on Saturday, a police official said.

The incident took place at Moonidih coal washery in the command area of Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL).

"Bodies of all four workers were dug out of debris during a rescue operation," Putki police station in-charge Waqar Hussain told PTI.

The incident took place when coal slurry was being loaded into trucks by workers, during which a large chunk of slurry fell and trapped several workers underneath, officials said.

The deceased have been identified as Manik Bauri, Dinesh Bauri, Deepak Bauri, and Hemlal Gope.

Meanwhile, the family members of the deceased and local villagers placed the bodies in front of the washery gate and began a protest.

They demanded compensation, jobs for dependents and action against those responsible for the incident.

Police and administration officials are trying to pacify the protesters, an official said.
