Patna: Hitting out at Nitish Kumar, election strategist Prashant Kishor on Saturday challenged the Bihar chief minister to ask JD (U) MP Harivansh Narayan Singh to quit as deputy chairman of the Rajya Sabha.
Kishor asked the chief minister to do so ‘to prove he has no connection with the BJP’.
This is the latest outburst in the ongoing feud between the duo, reports NDTV.
In his Saturday post on social media, the strategist told Kumar, "#NitishKumar ji if you have nothing to do with BJP / NDA then ask your MP to quit the post of Deputy Chairman of Rajya Sabha… You can't have both ways all the time."
He had pointed out on Friday that Kumar had been supported by the BJP for 14 of his 17 years as chief minister.
On Saturday, Kishor said in a video that, while many people are happy about Kumar walking out on the BJP and forming a nationwide coalition, the move could not be trusted. Kumar was definitely with the Mahagathbandhan, but is still connected to the BJP. “That Singh, a JD (U) MP and the Rajya Sabha deputy chairman still holds the post and the party too has taken no action against him for not resigning is proof of this,” he stated.
Kumar had on Friday retorted to Kishor’s earlier charge that Kumar is still in close touch with the BJP by saying that Kishor was speaking for his own publicity.
#NitishKumar ji if you have nothing to do with BJP / NDA then ask your MP to quit the post of Deputy Chairman of Rajya Sabha.
