New Delhi (PTI): India on Friday sent 33 tonnes of humanitarian supplies, including medicines, to Lebanon.

The supply of aid came amid Israel's continuing military offensive targeting Hezbollah strongholds.

"A total of 33 tons of medical supplies are being sent. First tranche of 11 tons of medical supplies was dispatched today," Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said on X.

"The consignment comprises of a wide range of pharmaceutical products, including cardiovascular medications, NSAIDs (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs), anti-inflammatory agents, antibiotics and anesthetics," he said.

Chamarajnagar: A biker had a close encounter with wild elephants while riding on the national highway connecting Bandipur National Park in Karnataka and Ooty in Tamil Nadu. The incident, which took place on Friday, was captured on video by an eye-witness.

The video shows the biker narrowly escaping an attack by a group of elephants crossing the highway. As the elephants approached, the biker immediately abandoned his vehicle and fled the scene, avoiding serious harm.

The elephants were passing through the road when they noticed the biker, leading them to charge towards him. Fortunately, the biker reacted and managed to get away without injury.

Forest officers have urged motorists and commuters to exercise extreme caution when traveling through forest areas, particularly on highways passing through wildlife habitats like Bandipur.
