Indore: Local Police have arrested a man for allegedly threatening a 23-year-old girl of chopping her into 35 pieces if she refuses to make sexual relations with him.

The accused has been identified as Shubham Kumar, who was arrested by cops from Banganga Police Station.

According to an official statement from the Additional DCP of Indore, Rajesh the accused forcefully tried to make physical relations with the victim and also threatened to cut her into pieces if she doesn't marry him. For the past few days, he started threatening her a lot and forcing her to build physical relations with him. Unable to bear the trauma, the victim filed a complaint and an FIR was registered against the accused.

The senior officer while also speaking to reporters, confirmed that the victim girl belonged to Muslim community.

Raghuvanshi said the cops have booked Shubham under sections 323, 376 (2) (n), 454, and 506 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

New Delhi: The Delhi High Court on Monday summoned Congress leader Shashi Tharoor on a defamation plea filed by BJP leader Rajeev Chandrasekhar.

Justice Purushaindra Kumar Kaurav posted the matter on April 28.

"Let the plaint be registered as a suit. Issue summons to the defendant (Tharoor). List before the joint registrar on April 28," said the court.

In his suit, Chandrasekhar claimed Tharoor made false and defamatory statements at various public fora in April, 2024 that severely damaged his professional and personal reputation.

Chandrasekhar has sought to restrain Tharoor from making any defamatory statements.

While seeking a public apology, he sought Rs 10 crore in damages from Tharoor for allegedly defaming and tarnishing his reputation.

The BJP leader filed the defamation case over Tharoor's purported statements during an interview to a television channel where the latter allegedly said Chandrasekhar offered money to voters during 2024 Lok Sabha polls.

The BJP politician is represented by law firm Karanjawala and company.
