New Delhi: A 22-year-old Japanese woman was harassed by a group of men during the Holi celebrations in the city on Wednesday.

A video clip that the woman shared on but later deleted from Twitter shows the group of men shoving her around, groping her and forcibly smearing colour on her face. One of them was also seen smashing an egg on to her head.

The Japanese woman is heard on the video clip saying, “Bye, bye, bye,” repeatedly, trying to free herself. Chants of ‘Holi hai’ are also heard in the clip.

The woman, after she managed to step away from the unruly group, was confronted by another man, who also tried to smear colour on her face, shouting, “Happy Holi!”

Many viewers of the video on social media demanded that the group of men be identified and punished.

Some viewers have also pointed out the irony of the incident taking place on International Women’s Day, which coincided with Holi this year.
