South Central Zonal Office, of Life Insurance Corporation of India Hyderabad on Wednesday organised a FIT INDIA FREEDOM RUN 2.0 for four kilometers marching towards Necklace Road from Zonal Office Building at Saifabad, Hyderabad to the statue of Sri PV Narasimha Rao, former Prime Minister and back to the Zonal Office covering about 4 kilometers.

M Jagannath, Zonal Manager, LIC of India, South Central Zone flagged off the Freedom run from the Zonal Office in the presence of other senior officers and employees and about 150 employees participated in the run.

“Life Insurance Corporation of India, in its jurisdiction, comprising of Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka states, has given a call to organize FIT INDIA FREEDOM RUN 2.0 as a group activity, on 08.09.2021 throughout the Zone by all Offices as part of Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav,” a press release from the organisation stated.

“Apart from Group activity, many employees in the Zone have participated as an INDIVIDUAL PARTICIPANT in this FIT INDIA FREEDOM RUN 2.0 and have uploaded their details in the website,” the release added.

“FIT India Mission, Govt of India, has conceptualized FIT INDIA FREEDOM RUN 2.0 to commemorate the 75th Independence Day - "Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav". Nationwide campaign is happening on the concept of “Physical/Virtual Run” in continuum from 13th August to 2nd October 2021 to encourage fitness and help us all to get freedom from obesity, laziness, stress, anxiety, diseases etc. The concept behind this run is that “It can be run anywhere, anytime!” it further added.

Beijing (PTI): China, for the first time, has confirmed that it provided on-site technical support to Pakistan during the four-day conflict with India last year, official media reports here said.

China's state broadcaster CCTV on Thursday aired an interview with Zhang Heng, an engineer from the Aviation Industry Corporation of China's (AVIC) Chengdu Aircraft Design and Research Institute, a key developer of China’s advanced fighter aircraft and unmanned aerial vehicle design.

Zhang had provided technical support to Pakistan during the four-day war last May, Hong Kong-based South China Morning Post reported, quoting CCTV.

Pakistan's air force operates a fleet of Chinese-made J-10CE jets, produced by an AVIC subsidiary.

"At the support base, we frequently heard the roar of fighter jets taking off and the constant wail of air-raid sirens. By late morning, in May, the temperature was already approaching 50 degrees Celsius (122 degrees Fahrenheit). It was a real ordeal for us, both mentally and physically,” Zhang said.

What drove his team was the "desire to do an even better job with on site support” and to ensure their equipment could “truly perform at its full combat potential”, Zhang told CCTV.

“That wasn’t just a recognition of the J10CE; it was also a testament to the deep bond we formed through working side by side, day in and day out,” he said.
