New Delhi (PTI): Lok Sabha proceedings were adjourned till 2 pm on Wednesday as Congress members sought an apology from Home Minister Amit Shah for his remarks which they claimed were an insult to B R Ambedkar.

As soon as the House met for the day, Congress members trooped into the Well displaying posters of Ambedkar and sought an apology from Shah for his remarks during a discussion in the Rajya Sabha on Tuesday.

Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal countered the Congress, saying the party has always insulted Ambedkar and ensured his defeat in Lok Sabha elections.

The minister also claimed that the Congress has now been forced to take the name of Ambedkar though the party does not respect him.

Speaker Om Birla asked the members to allow the Question Hour to continue but as the din continued, the proceedings went on for less than two minutes before being adjourned till 2 pm.

Hyderabad: The eight-year-old boy, who was also a victim of the deadly Sandhya theatre stampede during the premiere of Allu Arjun's Pushpa 2 in Hyderabad, is reportedly battling for his life and is currently on ventilator support.

Hyderabad City Police Commissioner CV Anand reportedly informed the media that the boy, Sri Teja, is "brain-dead" due to oxygen deprivation during the incident.

Reports mentioned that the minor's neurological condition also has not been showing any signs of improvement.

The stampede occurred at Sandhya Theatre at RTC X Roads on December 4 during the premier show which was attended by the film’s hero Allu Arjun. The young boy was hospitalised due to asphyxiation caused by the stampede, while his mother, Revathy, succumbed to her injuries later that evening.

The woman’s husband filed an FIR, which led to Allu Arjun’s arrest on Friday night. However, the actor was released on interim bail the following morning.
