Madhya Pradesh Governor Lalji Tandon directs CM Kamal Nath to seek trust vote on March 16
Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Governor Lalji Tandon directed Chief Minister Kamal Nath late Saturday night to seek a trust vote in the Assembly soon after his (governor) address on March 16.
A letter from the governor was sent to the chief minister in this regard around midnight, a Raj Bhawan source told PTI.
"I came to know that 22 MLAs have sent their resignations to the MP Assembly speaker and they have also informed about it on electronic and print media. I have seen the coverage on both media with attention," the letter, dated March 14, said.
"They have also sent the letter to me separately on March 10, 2020 and the same MLAs have requested for security to present these resignation letters to the Vidhan Sabha speaker on March 13," the governor said.
"Under Article 174 and 175(2) of the Constitution, I am empowered to direct that MP Assembly session will begin on March 16 at 11 am with my address. Soon after that the only work to be done is voting on trust vote," he said in the letter.

Sister of Anjali Ambigera, who was stabbed to death, attempted suicide, says grandmother
Hubballi (PTI): Distressed over Anjali Ambigera's brutal murder four days ago, her sister Yashoda Ambigera attempted suicide, their grandmother Gangamma Ambigera has said.
Speaking to reporters, Gangamma said Yashoda consumed phenyl as she was missing Anjali.
Anjali was stabbed to death by her neibhour Girish Sawant on May 15 as she did not entertain his proposal for marriage.
Gangamma said Yashoda was also depressed because she felt her sister would not get justice, as the accused Girish Sawant was arrested and is "living comfortably" in police custody.
"Yashodha was upset that her sister was not getting justice and her murderer was leading a comfortable life and is getting good treatment in a hospital. So, she consumed it (phenyl). She is okay now," Gangamma said.
She demanded that the accused be "eliminated".
Meanwhile, the BJP charged that law and order has deteriorated in the state.
"Murderers are having a field day due to deteriorating law and order," Karnataka Leader of opposition R Ashoka alleged.
