Mumbai: In another development following the NEET paper leak scandal that rocked Bihar and Gujarat, Maharashtra has now come under scrutiny. Two teachers, Sanjay Tukaram Jadhav and Jalil Umarkhan Pathan, were detained by the Nanded Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) on suspicion of involvement in the notorious paper leak.

Both educators, known for their roles in Zilla Parishad schools and private coaching centers in Latur, were questioned extensively before being released, pending further investigation.

The widespread malpractice surrounding the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) and the University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC-NET) has resulted in nationwide investigations.

Last night, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) took charge of the NEET probe. Allegations of leaked papers surfacing after the NEET UG exam on May 5 have led to widespread protests and legal challenges, culminating in a high-stakes retest today for over 1,500 aspirants across seven examination centers.

Amidst escalating concerns, the government has initiated stringent measures, including the replacement of testing agency leadership and the enactment of new legislation aimed at curtailing future leaks and exam irregularities.

NEET PG, scheduled for today, has been abruptly canceled by the Ministry of Health, with reassurance that a rescheduled date will be immediately announced. Similarly, UGC-NET, conducted recently, was canceled following allegations of paper leakage and unauthorized distribution via the dark web.
