Vrindavan: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat visited Sant Premanand Maharaj in Vrindavan on Wednesday morning, where the saint expressed concerns over societal challenges in a spiritual discussion lasting about 15 minutes.

Premanand Maharaj emphasized the need for spiritual and practical service and raised issues related to the declining intellectual level in society.

Bhagwat reached Premanand Maharaj's ashram on Parikrama Marg at around 8 AM, presenting the saint with a robe and a basket of fruits.

During the discussion, Premanand Maharaj highlighted the significance of God's gift of life for service, both practical and spiritual. He shared worries about the increasing prevalence of addiction, adultery, and violence in society, stressing that material comforts alone cannot bring happiness.

Premanand Maharaj also pointed out the importance of teaching patriotism and purifying thoughts to counteract the decline in societal values.

“Today the intellectual level of the society is falling. This is a matter of concern. We will provide them facilities and various types of food items, but until the impurity of their hearts and violent tendencies are not cured, nothing will be cured,” Premanand said.

“It’s disappointing the heart to see the tendency of adultery, addiction and violence in the new generation. The mentality that is being created now is not beneficial for the religion and the country,” he added.
