Gangtok (PTI): Sikkim was rocked by a low-intensity earthquake of 4.1 magnitude, a report issued by the National Centre of Seismology (NCS) said.

The epicenter of the earthquake was in Mangan district at 14 km below the surface at 8.41 pm on Saturday.

There was no report of any loss of life or damage to properties though tremors were felt, officials said.

The residents have been advised to remain alert and follow safety precautions, they added.

Ballia (UP) (PTI): In a suspected case of suicide, the body of a 14-year-old girl, who left her home four days ago after an argument with her family, was found under a bridge in the Saryu River here, police said on Sunday.

Passersby spotted the body under the Manjhi Ghat bridge at Chand Diyar village in Ballia district and alerted the police, they said.

Local SHO Rajendra Prasad said the deceased has been identified as Khushi Yadav (14), a resident of Karan Chhapra village, who left her home on March 19 after an argument with her family.

It is suspected that she jumped from the bridge on the same day, the officer said, adding that police have launched a probe after sending the body for autopsy.
